ABOUT ME
Hi, welcome to my corner of the internet. I’m Annie, a scientific communicator with a passion for documenting new discoveries and breakthroughs in the biomedical field. Fueled by curiosity about the hidden intricacies of life at the microscopic level, I love learning about new experiments and technologies that are shaping the future of medicine.
My writing journey started during graduate school, where I learned the art of turning complex experimental designs and results into straightforward stories. Since graduating in 2022, I have written news articles and blog posts for a project on international data governance for brain and mental health data. During the past few years, I have developed a greater appreciation for scientific communication, because writing allows me to learn new things, dive into new fields, and find new ways to fuel my curiosity.
In my freetime, I am an avid reader of thrillers and mysteries. Checkout my Goodreads profile to see what I’m currently reading. I’m also a big fan of professional and collegiate sports. On the weekends you can find me watching women’s basketball, college volleyball, or a handful of other sports.
On this website you’ll find a collection of my work, ranging from peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals, to funding proposals, to informational blog posts. Feel free to look around or reach out directly to me at amackenzie238[at]gmail[dot]com.
